The Kent shirtmaker. Just about the last of its kind. It stands at the top of a quiet road on a leafy hill, in a Victorian-era workhouse, somewhere in the middle of Kent, twenty miles outside London. Here, over three narrow floors, shirts of imperious quality are cut, sewn, and finished by hand.
The workshop was built over a century ago, and for the past decade or more has served competently and compactly as company headquarters. Garments aren’t made here, of course — that’s the purview now of makers across the British Isles — but it is quite handy for the development of them.
